ABOUT MPXG2EDIT =============== MPXG2Edit 1.0a2 - http://www.miprosoft.com/mpxg2 Copyright © 2011 Luc Deschenaux This is an alpha release of the unofficial Lexicon MPX-G2 editor. Many options and features are missing or are going to be enhanced. THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NONINFRINGEMENT. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE AUTHORS OR COPYRIGHT HOLDERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES OR OTHER LIABILITY, WHETHER IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM, OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE OR THE USE OR OTHER DEALINGS IN THE SOFTWARE. ------------------------------------------ QUICKSTART ========== - Run the program and the web interface should be displayed automatically in your default browser (recommended browser: Google Chrome) - Click "Configuration" and choose the MIDI ports you want to use the first time you run it. - If the browser is not launched automatically, open http://localhost:8081 - If you want to use your iPad or another remote control device, try the URLs specified on the homepage ------------------------------------------ Please contact me if your G2 is running firmware 1.0. Actually only firmware 1.1 is supported, but there's almost nothing to change. ------------------------------------------ USAGE NOTES =========== You cannot yet modify program settings without a G2 connected since parameters are read and written individually via MIDI, but in the future editing MIDI dumps will be possible (a few parameters cannot be modified "live"). You can drag'n'drop previously saved program settings (or other raw system exclusive messages in .syx files) in the browser window to restore them on the G2 (recommended browser: Google Chrome). Program settings saved with the editor are restored in the G2 edit buffer, but you will be able to choose destination in the next release (target memory locations will be automatically saved first). Every dump received from the G2 is backuped in the internal library. In this alpha release only program dumps are backuped. When you change the parameter values with the editor and the same page is displayed elsewhere (eg: on your laptop or your iPad), other window(s) are synchronized using the most capable transport using socketio (http://socket.io/#browser-support) You can now open more than 5 or 6 windows with the same browser, they will not be stuck anymore since socketio overcome the browsers connection restrictions. If you change a parameter manually on the G2, the editor windows are synchronized (although some parameters cannot be tracked this way). On program change, the editor windows are synchronized. When the window is not wide enough, the left bar is replaced with a navigation bar, with the nine G2 panel buttons plus a Tuner button. To quit the tuner, press Bypass once. When you press the first time on an effect button, the effect is selectionned. Subsequently, it acts as a toggle for effect bypass (Works on the left bar too). You cannot yet select "Dry Level" for the Mix parameter, but it is displayed properly if you change it on the G2 and it will works when editing a dump.
